Personally, I think the franchise should have been left alone, but if it had to continue, it should have been an anthology series, with each movie exploring different aspects of the corn deity and its influence on the characters. However, as it stands, the franchise is best left to completionists and King mega-fans, who can appreciate the series for what it is: a collection of movies that, despite their flaws, have an intriguing concept and a dedicated following. So, if you're a fan of the franchise, my advice is to watch the movies back-to-back, but take breaks in between to avoid sprouting ears of corn and hearing the call of He Who Walks Behind the Rows.
